Aralez is a pharmaceutical company that focuses primarily on cardiac medicine. They were initially in need of an intranet portal to provide an employee reward system. During the course of the project, however, the scope expanded to include a message board that could act as a central hub for inter-office social activity as well.
After discussing and early prototyping, an “flipboard” approach seemed most appropriate for the task.
I used a color scheme that fused traditional medical field hues and tones with more vibrant colors to help emphasize the lively nature of the project. The icons were created with soft edges and round thin strokes to amplify the playfulness required to separate the tone of the project from the otherwise serious nature of the pharmaceutical industry.
